From Hollywood to Raleighwood; be a VIP at annual Raleighwood Oscars Gala

OscarWebSmlCAM00064SmallerOur annual “Star Search” is on.   We are looking for people bearing a striking resemblance to a movie star (past or present) or a character from a movie to attend our Annual Academy Awards Gala, to be held Sunday, February 22nd, as an “A-List” VIP.  If you, or someone you know, fits the role, email a photo in “character” along with contact info (name, phone, email by Feb 13th) to SpecialEvents@RaleighwoodMovies.com.  Winners will be notified and invited to attend and receive “VIP A-List” treatment at the gala, seated in a special VIP section along with some additional “perks.”  Walk the red carpet, be available for photos by “paparazzi” and pose for photos with fans.    So, if you have always been told “you look just like……”  this is your chance to shine and get Star treatment —  at Raleighwood’s 15th Annual Academy Awards Gala.

Even if you are not pre-picked to attend as a VIP, be sure to come in costume and enter the contest. Grand Prize packages for the audience favorite and best dressed star or character look-alike include tickets to NC Symphony,  Hair, Nail Salon services, gift certificates, movie memorabilia,  and more.

Movie Star and Character look-alike contest, appearance by Star Wars characters including Darth Vader; movie trivia contests, pick the Oscar winners, and more make this a grand event and the place to be for the Oscars.

Pick the Oscar Winner in the top 6 Academy Awards categories for a chance to win prizes including DVD box sets, movie memorabilia, gift baskets and certificates and more, from local area restaurants and businesses.

Look for this goof in the movie – The Island Police car is a 1968 Plymouth. The movie is set in 1965.

Movie buffs love trivia, errors, goofs and references to other films in the movies we watch.  Do you have a good one?  let us know.

Did you know that  Bruce Willis  turned down the starring role in Ghost because he didn’t think the plot would work and that playing a ghost would hurt his career.  Ironically, he played a ghost in “The Sixth Sense”; a critical success widely regarded as one of his best performances!

Did you know that for the The 3 Stooges movie, the stars originally slated were
Sean Penn to play Larry, Benicio del Toro to play Moe and Jim Carrey to play Curly?!

Sean Hayes as Larry , Will Sasso as  Curly, and Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe  got the roles.
