Seven Psycopaths

Seven PsychopathsSaw it…wierdly, we liked it!  A dark comedy for sure, not for the faint of heart.   Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Abbie Cornish, Olga Kurylenko. “Seven times more clever than most Hollywood violent comedies, and way more demented. A delightfully nuts, compulsively watchable film.”

Well worth seeing if you are fan of these types of movies or any of the actors in it.

WHO WAS YOUR FAVORITE PSYCOPATH?

Beat the Heat…AC, Movies and Ice Cream!

The temperature’s rising…..we’re havin’ a heat wave! It’s too hot be outside. Beat the Heat, take yourself and the kids to a movie in an air-conditioned theater, for lunch or dinner and a movie… plus take advantage of today’s Raleighwood menu special Thursday – 99¢ Cinderella Ice Cream Sundae with each entrée order.

Did you know  air conditioning was born in 1902 when Willis Carrier, a mechanical engineer, developed and installed the first system in a publishing company in Brooklyn, New York. Carrier’s invention would eventually have a revolutionary impact on America.

The opening of the Rivoli in NY was widely advertised for its refrigerating/ air conditioning system. People lined up at the box office – curious about ‘cool comfort’ .  Through the 1950’s movie theaters advertised Air Conditioned right up with the movies on the marquee.

A great option for a blistering hot day – relax and enjoy a movie and a meal at Raleighwood!

Pizza fun facts

Did you know that 36 percent of all pizza ordered are topped with pepperoni?!  Americans eat approximately 100 acres of pizza a day or about 350 slices per second.  Pizza can be called a balance meal, it has most of  the food groups – grains in the crust, vegetables or meat  put on as a topping, dairy in the cheese, and fruit in the tomato sauce.

Pizza is also one of the favorite foods to eat while watching a movie, it ranks right up there with popcorn.

Share a pizza at an afternoon family matinée, a perfect for lunch or an early dinner.  Sit back, relax, enjoy the movie and let us do the work.  A great way to take the kids to a movie.  Or get a group together and come to our early or later evening shows.

Today’s menu special at Raleighwood Cinema Grill is $3 Off all Large Pizzas. Enjoy a pizza, a pitcher (beer or soda), and a picture – check website for scheduled movies and show times.

More about Cabin in the Woods movie

After an early preview screening,  Director Drew Goddard was asked, “Will there be a sequel?” To which he responded, “Have you seen the ending to my movie?”…

Have YOU?….. now’s your chance these are the last few days to see it at Raleighwood! Cabin in the Woods tonight through this Thursday night.  This is the way to see this movie,  with friends,  in a dark theater, enjoying  today’s (Tuesday) Menu Special of $3 Off all Large Pizzas,  a pitcher of beer, wine or one of Raleighwood’s great homemade desserts.

Cabin in the Woods, not what you expect….

… the film was advertised as a straight horror film, when it’s really a horror/comedy, a combination not easy to pull off, but one that Cabin in the Woods absolutely got right.    Rated R.  There are scary scenes and bloody scenes, but it’s the sharp humor that really holds the film together, with some of the funniest scenes  being a running joke involving a Merman.

So if you are a fan of movies, horror movies and like references to other movies imbedded in your films, then this is a movie you won’t want to miss.

Playing tonight and thru Thursday at Raleighwood at 8:20pm – plan to get there early, so you can order – today’s (Monday’s) menu special is Ten Half-Price HOT or BBQ Wings, with each entrée order.  Our wings have been called the Best in town!

Check website for more info…….

Pizza, Pizza, Pizza

93% of Americans eat at least one pizza per month.  Gennaro Lombardi’s,  an Italian restaurant on Spring Street in New York City, served America’s first pizza in 1905 (or 1895).

Today’s menu special at Raleighwood is – PIZZA! $3.00 off all large pizzas.

What could be better, a picture, a pizza, and a pitcher (beer!)

Why do women eat salad on dates?

At Raleighwood we see dining patterns, and it’s really interesting what and when people eat what!

Just saw a great article about Salads – women vs men. Psychologists have discovered that if a woman was sitting with men, she was more likely to eat food of a ‘lower caloric value’ than if she was sitting with other women.

The salad leaves are meant to say “I’m pretty; I’m attractive; I take care of myself,”

Men, on the other hand, seem to have no such need to alter their food intake to impress the opposite sex. The study showed that they eat pretty much the same regardless of who their dining companions are.

So, bring a date to Raleighwood tonight, or come as a group, enjoy a great movie,  and take advantage of today’s Menu Special – get a 99¢ side salad with each entree order.
